Hadyn Green

Grad Dip (For Sc), Grad Dip (Leadership), Exec Cert (Business Admin)

Hadyn lives in Karratha in the north-west of Western Australia.  He is a member of the Australian Academy of Forensic Science and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.  He was the officer in charge of the WA Police Forensic Division before retiring in 2010 and then commenced work as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia.  He continues to lecture in forensics and law at the Murdoch University.

Simon Lewis

Professor Simon Lewis BSc (Hons), PhD, CChem FRSC FRACI is Professor of Forensic and Analytical Chemistry in the Nanochemistry Research Institute and Department of Chemistry at Curtin University. His research interests are focused on chemical techniques applied to forensic analysis, in particular fingermark chemistry and exchange evidence. He is enthusiastically involved in outreach programs, using forensic science and analytical chemistry as vehicles to engage children of all ages in science.

Chris May

Dr Chris May BSc(Hons), MForSci, PhD is an analytical chemist and the General Manager of Operations at TSW Analytical. Chris is a Member & Chartered Chemist with the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI), a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and an Associate Member in the Criminalistics section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS). He is the current President of the WA Branch of ANZFSS and has been known to appreciate the odd beer or two.

Kari Pitts

Dr Kari Pitts BSc(Hons), MForSci, PhD is a Chemist and Research Officer in the Physical Evidence Team, Forensic Science Laboratory of ChemCentre. Kari is a Member with the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI), a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and a Member of the American Society of Trace Evidence Examiners (ASTEE). She likes to say she is as close as she could legally get to being a 'Mad Scientist', a wish of her 4-year-old self.

Linda Sengsourinho

Linda Sengsourinho, has no scientific background and is the rag tag tagalong in this highly professional outfit.

Linda organises a crime fiction conference which utilises the skills of many of the professionals associated with ANZFSS and shamelessly uses her connections with Professor Simon Lewis and Hadyn Green, APM to draw in scientific presenters for her conference. Linda has been a member of ANZFSS since 2013.

Gavin Turbett

Dr Gavin TURBETT, BSc(Hons), PhD, FFSc(RCPA) is the Principal Scientist of the Forensic Biology Laboratory at PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA, and has held that role since 1999. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Curtin University, Murdoch University and the University of Western Australia, and lectures regularly to the WA Police, University students and others about forensic biology and DNA profiling.

In 2011, he became a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Science, Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. He is a member of the Australia New Zealand Forensic Executive Committee (ANZFEC) and is the mentor to the Biology Specialist Advisory Group (BSAG).

Renee Bennett
